  1. I have not experienced distance learning in the k-12 setting but have done online learning for exactly a year. We used very basic meeting programs such as Zoom Google Classroom and Google Meets. I remember a few of the teachers using activity tools such as AP practice tests, Socrative and Class Discussion 

  2. Jack Mckenna describes open learning resources as teaching materials with an open license, that are allowed to be reused and repurposed without repercussions. Many open learning resources include essays, diagrams, and recorded lectures. As of now, since learning resources are so accessible on the internet, students can save a lot of money with textbooks and consequently reduce environmental pollution.

  3. I definitely learned how to work with a new program which is Microsoft powerpoint. Although it isn’t really any different from using google slides, I really liked the animation and formatting features it provides, as well as  multiple toolbars to customize each slide. The only main problem I have with this powerpoint is the fact that it doesn’t record headphone audio, making my voice inaudible amid all the background noise.

  Looking through the syllabus, there seems to be a lot of practical usage of technology in conjunction with classroom teaching. It includes elements of design, presentation and interactivity which are all important assets in 21st century instruction. I mainly hope to explore new ways I could interact with my class via technology, in a concise and accessible manner. With the class schedule and syllabus online, students will have much less confusion navigating through the course material.   I’ve discovered a few new things about web design features including inserting a calendar and pdf document into the slide. I’ve also found ways to make the site more interactive using social icons, as well as relevant images.  I like Weebly for its easy navigation and the many custom features it provides, differing from WIX quite a bit. The most important thing I dislike about this program is the fact that I can’t verify myself to get in.   There are many ways a teacher could use a QR code including for access to class content, contact information or activities.
